Notice

1.Melting point of platinum crucible is 1773.5℃, maximum permissible temperature is 1200℃, and not allowed to heat directly on open fires. For platinum vessel, the maximum permissible temperature is 1300℃. There will be no deformation under 1400℃ for 30 minutes, but long-time use under that is not allowed, otherwise deformation may be caused. 

2.Mind the strength when take out the crucible to avoid deformation, glass bar cusp is not allowed to use to take out testing matter from the crucible.

3.To avoid corrosion due to chemical reaction between testing matter and the crucible, none of the material below is available to be heated or melted inside: nitrate, nitrite, chloride, oxide, cyanide of alkali melt, hydroxide, barium oxide, sodium thiosulfate, material contains phosphorus or sulphur. 

5.When heat the platinum crucible, please do not let it contact directly with any other mettle, like iron plate, electric furnace, or thermocouple when put it into high temperature furnace. 

6.Halogen material is not allowed to be tested in platinum crucible, like bromine water, hydrochloric acid, or oxidizing agent (chlorate, nitrate, permanganate, manganese oxide chromate, nitrite). To avoid corrossion, please do not let it contact with ferric trichloride. 

7.Please do not heat or melt anything with unknown composition in platinum crucible. 

8.Please keep the platinum crucible clean and lustrous of both sides. After long-time use, the external surface may become lackluster, and the impurity may permeate into the crucible and cause embrittlement or fracture, so impurity on surface should be cleaned in time. 

9.Note: please equip stainless steel crucible tongs with platinum tip for platinum vessel. 

Instruction for platinum crucible clean

A.Boil in diluted hydrochloric acid or dilute nitric acid (diluted hydrochloric acid is recommended, concentration 1.5~2 mol/L), and no oxidizing agent like nitrate, nitrite or Halogen material contained.
B.If the platinum crucible still not cleaned after step A, then use melted potassium pyrosulfate,  sodium carbonate or borax to wash it. 
If still stain or darkness in the surface after step B, then wet it with water, use 100-mesh fine sand that without shape edge to grind it lightly to regain luster.
