Key points of super low carbon content analyzing by high frequency infrared carbon sulfur analyzer are as follows:


Contamination prevention.

1.1 Especially oil contamination during process of drilling, turning or milling should be avoided, for which will cause high carbon content in sample, also large result fluctuation. Furthermore, the contaminant is hard to be washed by acetone, ethyl ether, CTC or ethyl alcohol, so super low carbon content test will be affected significantly.

1.2. during the test, contamination brought in by hand contact should be avoided, also the tweezers and crucible tongs should be washed after using.


2.Baseline value of fluxing agent, super low carbon sulfur crucible and oxygen should be controlled, to get low and stable baseline value, and stability is especially critical. In one hand, accelerator that with low carbon residuum, like tungsten accelerator, pure iron accelerator and tin accelerator can be used, also drying treatment can be considered, on the other hand, burning crucibles at high temperature like 1000~1200DegC for 4 hours, or at 1350DegC for super low carbon test, and if necessary, use 99.999% high purity oxygen which has lower and more stable baseline value, instead of normal oxygen.

3.Consistency of baseline value test and condition. Besides baseline value of consumables as Article 2 explained, testing condition of baseline value is also important, like integral time, check the smallest integral time conforms with sample appearance ending time. In addition, additive amount of each kind of fluxing agents should be highly consistent.


4.Stability of instruments themselves. For super low carbon content test, instrument specification should be also checked, to confirm the instrument should have required detection capability. Dust should be cleaned, to avoid testing value fluctuation caused by dust absorption, likewise, normal of soda asbestos and Dehydrite should be confirmed.
