Acceptance Process of Dedicated Carbon Sulfur Analyzing Crucible

Dedicated carbon sulfur crucible is main consumable of high frequency infrared carbon sulfur analyzer, usually it can be used only one time so consumption is large. Meanwhile, quality requirement to crucible is very high for low or super lower carbon/sulfur content sample test.

Acceptance standard: dedicated carbon sulfur analyzing crucible, factory inspection for 100 piece

Item 1: appearance inspection

Standard:

Any crack, or flaw like edge damage, cavity, moire that may affect normal use is not acceptable.

Surface color and luster should be even, mottle or spot in internal surface are not acceptable. In external surface, total mottle area should be less than 10% of column superficial area.
Surface defect specification should comply with the standard below.

Item 2: Dimension Inspection

Measure the crucibles by caliper, and check the deviation is conformable or not.

Item 3: carbon and sulfur content inspection

Pretreatment: burn the crucible in oxygen flow at 1350℃

Criterion: Average content of carbon and sulfur should be less than 0.0005%

Analyzer: ELTRA infrared carbon sulfur analyzer

Carrier oxygen: 99.995% oxygen, produced by Air Products

Tungsten flux: 40 mesh, roast the CSCERAMIC tungsten particles for 2 hours in oven at 300±10℃.

Other item: cracking rate

Check the crucibles after baseline value test, crack is found in all crucibles.

Conclusion: By inspecting the appearance, dimension, carbon and sulfur content of the carbon sulfur crucibles, it’s verified that products are conformable and available to use.
