Bone Ash Cupel Tapered Cone Cupel Trays

Features

1) Bone ash cupels are made from bone ash, which is a high-temperature material that is used to absorb impurities

from molten metal.

2) They are capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1200°C (2192°F).

3) The cupel has a porous texture which enables it to absorb impurities from metals.

4) It is used in the process of refining silver, gold and other precious metals.

5) The cupel is placed into a furnace and heated to a high temperature.

6) As the metals are melted and poured into the cupel, the impurities are absorbed by the porous material.

7) The cupel is then removed and the metals can be recovered from it.

8) Bone ash cupels are also used in the process of assaying, which is the determination of the purity of a precious metal.

1.Q: What is a bone ash cupel?

A: A bone ash cupel is a small cup-shaped vessel made of bone ash, used in the process of assaying gold and other precious metals. The cupel absorbs impurities in the metal, leaving behind a purified sample that can be tested for its gold content.

2.Q: How is a bone ash cupel used?

A: The process begins by melting down the gold or other precious metal to be tested. The molten metal is then poured into the cupel and heated until it is completely absorbed. The cupel will absorb any impurities in the metal, leaving behind a purified sample. The sample can then be tested to determine its gold content.

3.Q: What are the benefits of using a bone ash cupel?

A: Using a bone ash cupel is one of the best ways to accurately and efficiently test the gold content of a sample. The cupel is able to absorb any impurities in the metal, allowing for a more accurate testing process. Additionally, bone ash cupels are reusable and require only simple maintenance, making them a cost-effective option for assaying gold and other precious metals.
